Serum lipoprotein cholesterol and TG levels in MϕNpc1+/+ and MϕNpc1–/– mice fed an atherogenic diet. (A) Quantitative lipoprotein analysis of serum lipoproteins. Sera from 9–10 animals per genotype fed the high-fat diet for 0, 3, 6, and 10 weeks were pooled and analyzed by HPLC. Data are mean ± SEM. *P ≤ 0.05, **P ≤ 0.005 versus MϕNpc1+/+. (B) FPLC profile of cholesterol and TGs in mice fed the high-fat diet for 10 weeks. Sera from 5–6 animals per genotype were pooled and separated by FPLC, and individual fractions were assayed for cholesterol and TG content.
